The fourth full-length album from Lapse and the first in a year and a half, Rimebound contains a wealth of experimentation and atmospheric production.
Taking nearly a year to properly edit and produce, Rimebound's tracks are long, expansive, and all over the place, having less straightforward beats and instead concentrating on a glacial and frigid ambient techno sound with heavy winter themes and many, MANY wind samples.
Save a couple of short, interlude-like tracks ("Exhaustion", and to a lesser extent, "Buried In An Immense Snowstorm"), the rest of the songs on Rimebound all extend over the 6-minute mark. The title track "Rimebound (An Acceptance)" is the absolute longest in Lapse's catalog, boasting a total runtime of 12 minutes and 20 seconds and changing rhythm three times throughout its length.
