"The brain itself, is about 3% of our total body weight, but it uses up about 25% of our oxygen and our food." "It's like a highly-tuned, very fast racing engine. And, uh, it can't really relax to any extent in wait from this, and the only way it can go offline or relax to any extent for our necessary rest is in sleep."

about

Influenced by artists such as Aphex Twin, The Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack, Frank Klepacki and Autechre, Lapse's first proper full-length album Somnambulist (Awoken) jumps between industrial, drum & bass, ambient and more. Somnambulist (Awoken) is an album that follows a loose concept about stages of sleep and an insidious agency named Somnambula.

The various parts of this album were recorded, edited, and toyed around with since late 2014 but were hindered by general laziness on Lapse's behalf, so Somnambulist (Awoken) has been a long work in progress that underwent many stages of existence, in a few different forms (see zyterixquadrilogy.weebly.com/lapse.html for more details), but has finally been compiled in its most complete form.
