From The Crypt provides a little look into the darker side of Lapse's music. Featured on this EP is the original, more barebones version of "Endbringer", a claustrophobic, fast electronic track with lots of dark ambient and odd sampling sprawled throughout its long 7-minute running time. An improved "Endbringer" would later be featured as part of the Lapse album Despair.
The second two tracks were previously released on other records. The first one "The Black Sphere" being an old experimental collaboration with dark ambient artist Empty featured on their album "Void Hyperplane", and the second one - glitchy noise track "Decompile The Dream" - was attached as a hidden track at the end of the obsolete Lapse version of Somnambulist (Awoken), titled "Somnambulist [Deluxe Edition]".
For those who like spookier music, or just want to hear the Ephemeral (A Minor Setback) track "Échapper à La Vie" without the nice parts ("Decompile The Dream"), From The Crypt is a great little package to check out.
